To commemorate the 16th anniversary of September 11th, the 9/11 Tribute Museum will partner with restaurants for the 3rd annual Dine Out for 9/11 Tribute. Beginning Friday September 8 through Monday September 11, 2017, restaurants in New York and New Jersey will donate a percentage of their proceeds a to support education programs of the 9/11 Tribute Museum which provides programs to 8,000 students and teachers annually to help teach the impact of 9/11 for middle and high school students.

Dine Out for 9/11 Tribute promotes the mission of the 9/11 Tribute Museum. The 9/11 Tribute Museum is a project of the September 11th Families’ Association, dedicated to collecting and sharing the stories of those who were directly impacted by 9/11. The Tribute Museum provides a cultural and historical context for understanding the events of 9/11 through the personal experiences of the 9/11 community – family members, survivors, first responders, rescue and recovery workers, volunteers, and Lower Manhattan workers and residents.

Tribute provides an understanding of the loss and impact of 9/11 while demonstrating the resilience and recovery of New York City, the country and the world.

Since opening in September 2006, the Tribute Museum has served more than 4 million visitors from every state in the United States and 139 countries. Dine Out for 9/11 Tribute is an outreach effort to market Tributes’ expanded programs and exhibitions which have an increased focus on public service, civic responsibility and community resilience.

One example of paying it forward in Tribute is the Seeds of Service Gallery which invites visitors to plant a seed of service by supporting an issue, making a donation or contributing their skills to a cause they care about. The new location allows the Tribute Museum to triple annual capacity and help to support the restaurants that will partner for Dine Out for 9/11 Tribute that are revitalizing Lower Manhattan by directing visitors to the many wonderful options in and around the World Trade Center.
