9/11 Day of Service & Remembrance

AON, 2016

Thank you AON for supporting our 9/11 National Day of Service & Remembrance event.

[We] built a bike last year, myself and a colleague- it was for an 8 year old girl. We signed it, ‘We hope you enjoy this bike. It was built by two guys from New York City.’ So we hope that puts a smile on her face made her think there are people out there that are good and caring. – Tom Morris, Regional Managing Director, Aon

Here in New York, we especially pay attention to 9/11, given that we lost 176 colleagues on 9/11, so it’s great to be able to combine not only the remembrance of our colleagues but also to share our strong tradition of service. – Petra Slater, New York Market Leader, Aon

Volunteer at the 9/11 Tribute Center

The 9/11 Tribute Center, a project of the September 11th Families’ Association, brings together those who want to learn about 9/11 with those who experienced the attacks. Together, we educate future generations about how the events of 9/11 changed our world. We preserve personal memories and experiences and celebrate the resilience and healing of the 9/11 community.

Our Mission

The 9/11 Tribute Center invites visitors to hear the personal stories from the 9/11 community: survivors, family members who lost loved ones in the attacks, first responders and lower Manhattan residents. Their stories of survival, recovery and remembrance are a testament to our compassion and the perseverance of the human spirit. Learn more about our efforts to preserve our history, support the 9/11 community and teach future generations.
